Abstract: The current file has been going through various problems caused by lack of knowledge of it, and relevance of their activities.There must be a recognition and appreciation to the detriment of succeeding ages, especially the permanent, so it can fulfill its role within organizations, for them and society.

With the increasing number of documents produced it became necessary to draw up principles and techniques to deal with this mass of documents in order not to lose information and optimize their access, because “man does not make documents available only because of machines for produce them, and but mainly as a result of performing work “(Schellenberg, 1973, p. 44).
In this direction lies one of the bases of the Archival Principle of the Three Ages, which divides the life cycle of documents from files into current, intermediate and permanent, maintaining communication between elas.Neste article seeks to focus the first phase: the current file.
